Jill Sakai is a science writer and editor based in Madison, Wisc. She writes and edits stories about all kinds of science but especially likes Earth and life sciences. She has a B.S. in biological sciences from the University of Rochester and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She volunteers her time to help support other science writers through the National Association of Science Writers. When not writing, she enjoys hiking in the woods, playing ultimate frisbee, violin and piano, and answering her own kids’ many questions.
